2025, day 244, Week II

2025-09-01

Readings: 1 Thes 4:13‑18 / Lk 4:16‑30

Missionary Cenacle Intentions: We dedicate Mondays to the Mystery of the Holy Spirit. Today we pray:

For an increase in the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit in the world, but especially in the Missionary Cenacle, we pray.

That the youth of the world deepen in faith in God and compassion toward all, we pray.

That married couples grow in their love for one another and their children, as witnesses of God's love for all, we pray.

For the members of the Missionary Cenacle Apostolate of Dulce Corazón de María, Paramount, CA, we pray.

For the members of the Missionary Cenacle, especially our sick, we pray.

For the deceased members of the Missionary Cenacle, especially Isabelle Derinato, MCA, 1994; Alfonso Castro, MCA, 2007; Br. Boris Farrah, ST, 2018, we pray.

Reading: We must be conscious of our sinfulness when we pray. How few of us are. We have a whole book of excuses‑or we can very cleverly shift the blame to someone else. We have not prayed. There has not been a movement of the heart‑only of the lips. Pray to Him for yourself. Pray to Him for that contrite humble heart. "O God, be merciful to me a sinner."(Lk.18:13) There was only One who could say: "Which of you can convict me of sin?"(Jn. 8:46) But we all have reason to say: "O God, be merciful to me a sinner."
