Readings: 1 Cor 9:16-19,22b-27 / Lk 6:39-42
Missionary Cenacle Intentions: We dedicate Fridays to the Mystery of the Passion and Death of the Lord. Today we pray:
That the suffering and death of Jesus inspire us to alleviate the suffering of others, we pray.
That our collaborators in mission may enter into and live our Cenacle spirit, we pray.
That the hearts of those considered enemies may be softened and our own hearts softened toward them, we pray.
For the members of the Missionary Cenacle Apostolate of Reina de los Apóstoles, Los Angeles, CA, we pray.
For the members of the Missionary Cenacle, especially our sick, we pray.
For the deceased members of the Missionary Cenacle, especially Sr. Mary Assumpta Hughes, MSBT, 1969; Fr. Bede Hermann, OFM Cap 1971; Florence Conlon Burke, MCA, 1975; Fr. Dominic Cangemi, ST, 2003, we pray.
Reading: This is His condition of discipleship, this is the test of the true and generous follower of the Saviour and so few approach it. He Himself says these words, “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not carry his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple.” (Lk. 14:26- 27) (MCM, p. 110)
